Health and Biosecurity

Herd health is fundamental to our goat farming philosophy. We operate with a proactive management approach that includes a full vaccination program for all animals and annual testing for:

- CAE (Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis)

- CL (Caseous Lymphadenitis)

- Johne’s disease

- Q fever

Our goal is to ensure a disease-free herd and provide customers with confidence in every animal they purchase from our Boer goat breeding program.

Every goat on our property receives attentive daily handling, balanced nutrition, and a clean environment that supports optimal growth and fertility.

De-G.O.A.T. Goat Farm began with just four doelings and a spirited Boer/Nubian/Kiko cross buckling named Greg — the goat who inspired our vision. Founded in 2021, our journey started during the COVID-19 pandemic as a simple effort to provide food security for our family amid rising grocery costs and limited access to quality goat meat. 

What began as a practical solution quickly became a passion for goat farming. As we learned more about herd management, livestock care, genetics, and meat goat production, our appreciation for these resilient animals deepened. Their gentle nature, adaptability, and value in sustainable agriculture inspired us to build something greater. 

Today, De-G.O.A.T. stands as a proud member of the Canadian Livestock Records Corporation (CLRC) and the Canadian Meat Goat Association (CMGA). We specialize in Boer goat breeding, focusing on producing premium Boer goats with strong conformation, rapid growth, solid maternal instincts, and calm temperaments. 

Our foundation remains rooted in family, sustainability, and respect for the animals in our care. Each step of our growth reflects our original goal — to raise healthy, grass-fed meat goats while supporting local food production and helping other farmers strengthen their herds.
